Tyvärr är spelarna unga (upp till 3 år yngre än många motståndare) så vi får se hur det går i år. Jag och P har iaf intervjuat och "anlitat" en team manager och en turneringskoordinator. Vi vill att allt ska fungera så bra som möjligt från början och försöker skapa samma stämning som i svenska klubbar.

P börjar bli allt stabilare och är inte lika trött längre eftr träningarna. Däremot åkte hon på säkert sju tunnlar idag, de som undrar kan ju maila henne och fråga varför!?

Nu har U6 startat och kan jag vara superorganiserad från början blir det en lätt och bra månadsinkomst. Tränarna och "spelarna" kan absolut INGENTING om fotboll, så det är en utmaning i sig att lära dem..

Desto bättre med privatlektioner på lördagmorgnar där föräldrar villigt betalar $ 60 per timme.

Press release: PCSL U-21 Women’s League comes to Kelowna

Kelowna United is pleased to announce they will enter a team in the prestigious PCSL Reserve League for the 2010 season.  With clubs participating from across the West this league has long been regarded as the best and most competitive environment for young players.

Mark Krehel President of Kelowna United spoke today;

“This is exciting news for the female athletes in youth programs across the region.  We hope to see our younger players coming to the games to see high level women’s play and aspiring to challenge for places on this squad as they progress through the system. We have hired Jan Prochazka from Sweden to coach the team, and we expect this program to flourish over the coming years under his guidance."

Prochazka, a product of IFK Gothenburg played his college soccer for San Diego in the men’s NCAA Division 1. He holds a both UEFA B and A licenses. Prochazka is looking forward to the challenge.   He spoke today about the regional flavour of the squad;

“We have recruited elite athletes from wide area for this squad, including girls from West Kelowna, Kamloops, Vernon and here in town.  We have selected a large number of U-17 players which will give us a strong foundation for the future.  There is no better league for them to learn how to play the game at an elite level.  The PCSL is a well established and very competitive league.  In order to accelerate the development of this young squad they will play year round. We intend to match them up against high calibre teams from the USA in tournament play over the winter months. I am hoping to see support from across the community for the girls on the squad as they make the step up to represent the region on a much bigger stage.”

PCSL teams can augment their U-21 rosters with up to three over age players.  Pernilla Erikson, also a Swede, will join the squad as player coach.  Having played professional soccer for several years in Europe she will bring leadership and mentorship to the young squad.

Hehe, nu har vi lite press på oss, men det är bara kul! Som sagt, vi får se hur det kommer gå i serien, vårt mål är främst att utveckla tjejerna och programmet mot något långvarigt och bra.
